Minneapolis is the largest municipality in Minnesota with more than 400,000 residents, forming half of the Twin Cities with the neighboring state capital, St. Paul.
Aging infrastructure, lack of internal resources, lack of visibility prior to the transition, strict 10-month implementation timeline
Aging IT infrastructure. An archaic outsourcing partnership. A comprehensive list of service needs. A tight timeline. For the City of Minneapolis, the need for an experienced managed cloud service provider to handle this complex transition was clear.
As a hybrid cloud solutions provider, OneNeck® IT Solutions’ responsibilities included various services: server, database, storage and network management, as well as data center security services. OneNeck’s managed colocation hosting services were also implemented, with one data center handling the city’s production applications and another supporting mission-critical applications.
On time and on budget, OneNeck’s completion of Phase 1 included a quick scaling of the ReliaCloud® environment, adding flexibility and responsiveness to serve 70 locations and 3,500 users. The city is saving $3 million annually, maximizing OneNeck’s fully managed cloud hosting services.
