This position is responsible for providing mid to high level DBA duties, such as software installation, user creation and backup monitoring. This resource will be responsible for performing security maintenance, restore and recovery testing, triage and troubleshooting of backup failures and assisting with the implementation and troubleshooting of connectivity interfaces such as ODBC. Job duties include responding to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. They are also required to document, track and monitor technical problems to ensure a timely resolution.

* Must possess the ability to work in a highly diverse and integrated hardware/software environment.
* Motivated, self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Strong understanding of database architecture including processes, structures.
* Strong understanding of entity relational diagrams and integrity constraints.
* Strong understanding of database security including users and roles.
* Strong understanding of environment variables and libraries associated with each RDBMS.
* Strong understanding of backup and restore, performance tuning and monitoring.
* Strong understanding of database level programming such as triggers, procedures and packages.
* Strong understanding of advanced features such as replication, cloning, disaster recovery.
* General understanding of performance tuning measures including storage, I/O and memory usage.
* General understanding of interface connectivity such as ODBC and supplier middleware.
* General understanding of media management software including interface to RDBMS.
* General understanding of supported applications including storage files, drivers and common errors associated with the interface to the database.
* General understanding of UNIX and Windows operating systems.
* Ability to debug and troubleshoot most errors and issues with little guidance from more senior staff.
* Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Applications a plus.
* Above average skills in written and oral communication.
* Available to provide 24X7 system support.
EDUCATION:
* 4 year degree in MIS/CS or Engineering preferred
* Oracle Database certification (OCA/OCP)
YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE:
* 3-5 years experience in database administration
