Position requires strong knowledge and skills in either 1) EMC/Cisco SAN equipment, 2) NetBackup V6.x, or 3) HP OpenView software suite and some degree of knowledge and skills in the remaining two areas. This is a top level position, do not apply unless qualified.
Responsibilities include high level Shared Services administration, including project planning and execution in a multi-customer team environment. Team member will perform new server installs; author and maintain shell scripts, and monitor/trouble shoot system performance. As a senior administrator candidate will also be responsible for mentoring junior resources as well as evaluating, developing, and initiating process improvement within Shared Services. Job duties include responding to escalated phone calls, email and various requests for technical support; as well as documenting, tracking, and monitoring technical problems insuring satisfactory and timely resolution.

 NetBackup, Cisco SAN Switching, EMC, and HP Openview certifications desired
 Experience with SAN storage, LUN creation and mapping (zoning) to fiber host bus adapters
 Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capability to write proposals and/or white papers, act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and work closely with upper management
 Advanced knowledge of networking/distributed computing environment concepts and understand routing principles
 Perform operating system upgrades, capacity planning, and performance analysis as it relates to day-to-day operations
 Will analyze and modify system parameters as necessary to configure the O/S and subsystem component.
*Possess logical, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
*Work with vendors to solve complex issues related to system performance and/or enhancements
*Comfortable with common aspects of NetBackup administration
*Ability to debug and troubleshoot operating system and application access problems
*Hands on experience with Windows and UNIX based hosts.
*Experience with system diagnostic tools and/or programs and be able to evaluate their output
*Ability to work as part of a team and be a team player
*Above average skills in written and oral communication
*Provide disaster recovery testing and tasks for the customer as required
*Position will occasionally require off-shift hours
*Position will require on-call rotation
*Available to provide 24X7 system support
*Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
*Ability to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
*Will apply changes in accordance with change management policies and procedures
*Develop and implement test plans to verify installation, upgrades or repairs, including back-out plans
*Record metrics and provide management reports as directed
*Enterprise environment standard operating procedures development and maintenance
*Strong inter-personal and communication skills
*Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or orally, good phone skills
*Tape and disk back up services experience with Veritas NetBackup
*Monitoring tools experience preferred (HP OpenView Operations, Dell OpenManage, etc.)
*SAN and NAS technology knowledge, especially with EMC Storage Units
*Able to lift 50 lb.
*Available to provide 24x7 system support
*Able to travel up to 20% of time

EDUCATION
One or more of the following:
IT/MIS related degree
OS Certification Windows/HP-UX/Solaris/AIX and/or
Veritas NetBackup v6 Certification and/or
EMC Storage Certification and/or
HP OpenView Certification

YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE:
5-10 years experience in SAN and Backup technologies in a diverse operating environment
